On the 25th July, our second ‘Fundamentals of Agronomy’ meeting took place at Seed & Field Pukekohe.
Unfortunately, due to some typical July weather the field visit was cancelled, meaning the meeting was restricted to a whiteboard and PowerPoint session. Key areas of focus were soil test interpretations, early season crop nutrition, Seed & Field R&D overview and a technical presentation by Andrew Thompson of Agrisource. There was a good level of interaction among the attendees, with some interesting discussion and challenging ideas put forward.
The purpose of these regular meetings is to delve into the key aspects of agronomy and to provide a forum to allow open discussion between growers to share ideas and experiences.
